Mission

The mission of the Canadian Home Economics Foundation is to provide improved quality of life to families and individuals in Canada by providing financial assistance to home economists in carrying out home economics research, developing educational tools, and in conducting public service projects, and to support post-secondary education related to the home economics profession.

Kira Jewell, University of Guelph; winner of the 2017 Dr. Elizabeth Feniak Award for Excellence in Technical Writing (undergraduate category).

Kira's winning paper was: 'Review of existing observational mealtime studies; Examining how parent feeding practices influence child eating behaviours and weight status'

Announcing:  Canadian Symposium XV

The 15th Canadian Symposium for Home Economics is being held in Vancouver, British Columbia at the University of British Columbia from February 22-24, 2019. You can view details about the weekend at the Symposium website .The theme of this symposium is Issues and Directions in Home Economics/Family Studies/Human Ecology with a special focus on "Transformative practice, ecology and everyday life". Papers are encouraged that address this theme but other research related to Home Economics, Human Ecology and Family Studies will also be considered.
